Good Things CAN Happen on a Monday. And Hats.

Today I got some good news. I found out around 11:30am from my blog-friend Carrie Penny that the results had been posted for the judging on the SC State Fair website. Screw work I was checking that website to see how I did!

My felted handbag won second place in Any other knitting not listed category.

My Bad Ass Knittin Bag won first in Handbag, Embroidered category. However, I think it was the only entry in that category. I'll still take it and I'm proud! They didn't have to give me anything for either one!

In other news I'm learning how to make hats on double pointed needles. At first I was intimidated and even a little scared/nervous. I mean, those needles are really pointy! What if I poked myself in the eye or made a shish-ka-hubby? It all worked out though.

I'm happy to report that no husbands, cats or dogs wer harmed during the knitting of these hats. Michael says he feels like I'm trying to give Hermione a run for her money knitting hats for the house elves.

My husband has been driving me batty since I turned my stuff in to see how it did. I was personaly more excited to see how your bag and my friend Andrea's sweater did!

CONGRATS. I can't wait to see your finished bag on Wed!!!

Thank you! What did you enter, Carrie? Are you the Carrie whose name I saw also posted?

I am listed under my maiden name of Barnhardt since I never legally changed my name... After 4 years of domestic bliss it is still on the list of things to do.

Sish-ka-hubby! LMAO! The real question is did you rip? Or were you smart enough to work from a pattern?

I managed not to rip anything out, although the blue one I'm working on now isn't meeting my expectations so it might be started over. I'm not real good with following patterns. I tend to use them for inspiration. Kind of like a man following directions when he's putting something together.

Your bag looks great the way it is displayed. I made my step kids and husband go and find it with me! It is hanging up on the wall!
